She sighed, "He's a brilliant singer. I stri-, I'm his charity case." she whinged. Apologising softly while gesturing for another drink. He'd said that stupid word. Yes. Tyler was good.

The barman poured her another drink, nodding. "So, what's wrong is that he's good?" he asked, raising a eyebrow.

Ruby drank a bit of it, shaking her head. "Whats wrong is that one day he'll leave... one day he'll leave ... me." she said gently. Looking back at him quickly. She knocked back the rest of her drink.

The barman nodded "Well sweetheart, it won't be for a while. Talent agents rarely come down here, and it takes a hell of a lot more then one good song to book an agent meeting Up There."

Ruby smiled beautifully at him. "You're right, thanks." her smile faded a little, "I would tip you for advice like that but... I don't have the money... Is there anything I can do to repay you?" she asked, wondering if she'd have to wash up out the back or something. Or maybe do some dancing, whatever, she owed this guy. It was rare down here anyone had time to listen to your problems.

The barman shrugged "Save me a dance at the club one night." he told her, winking cheekily. "Really though, it's no trouble. All part of the barman job."

Ruby laughed, "Will do." she chuckled, looking at the clock she saw that the night was getting really close to being morning. "Wow time flies when you're having fun huh?" she thought aloud.

The barman nodded "Yeah, we're closing soon. Looks like your guy's just finished up." he said, nodding to Tyler who was packing up his guitar.

Ruby blushed a little, "Oh, he's not my guy..." she giggled. "I actually do have... a guy. But it's not that particular guy- okay I'm gonna run. Thanks!" she chuckled, dropping about five dollars too much on the counter and casually walking over to Tyler.
"That was great!" she complimented him, standing over him and doing her best to look good. The fact she looked good when she wasn't trying wasn't on her mind.

Tyler grinned at her "Thanks. Enjoy it?"

She nodded, "It was excellent. You have one hell of a talent." she commented. Ask him about that chick again... "That girl in the song doesn't know what she's missing." she said politely, watching finish putting away his guitar. He did with such reverance, it was like an art form itself.

Tyler nodded slowly "Yeah..I wish she knew." he said softly, closing up the case and standing.

Ruby nodded, "Ty, like I said, just tell her. Anyway, I wanted to say bye before I left. I've got to go see Max to... uh... pick up something." she told him, hoping he'd hug her or something, but preparing herself to feel the rejection.

Tyler nodded "Oh, okay, well..Thanks for coming" he said, gently giving her a hug, mildly awkward.

Ruby hugged him back, chuffed to bits that he'd actually hugged her!
In a moment of weakness she touched his cheek and then realised what she was doing. Coughing she stepped away, "Good luck with that girl. And with the music, I'll see you soon okay?" she told him, walking out of the bar.
