He shrugged a bit "Frustrated musician in a city of sin. There isn't really to much to tell now, is there?" he said to her, smirking.

Jewel continued to talk to him, until she was gently tapped on the back by one of the other girls. She stroked Tylers cheek gently, kissing him hard on the lips, one of her hands sliding over a more sensitive part of his anatomy, before standing up, "My shifts over for tonight. See ya' round sugar." she smirked.
Turning away she danced her way through the club, gaining more tips as guys hands found their way up her legs, across her chest and some even grabbing her for a quick kiss.
She made her way out to the back rooms, she had her own personal dressing room here. She groaned, she'd been working since the opening moment of the club tonight. She counted up the money she'd earnt in tips tonight. It average about $100. That was enough for a cab home, dinner and possibly even enough to book her in for an audition.
However, it could also get her a fair amount of cocaine and dinner. She rummaged to the back of her desk drawer, pulling out her pack of white powder. Yes, she needed more. Lying her mirror flat on the desk she tapped the cocaine out into a line, rolling up one of her bank notes she perfect her line of powder before snorting it.
Grabbing her long black coat she put the money and pack of drugs in the pockets. Changing her stilleto's for a pair of high black boots. She could drop off her costume tomorrow. Her coat buttoned to waist level, hugging her figure and leaving her fish net stockinged legs in veiw whenever a breeze caught the coat.
She went to leave, making sure she stopped by her managers office. "Ruby." he nodded at her, smoking casually on his cigarette. Ruby smiled at him, saying nothing and holding up her sadly depleated bag of cocaine. "I need more. Theres barely a hit left in there." she complained, holding out her money.
The manager nodded, taking the money and handing her back $20. Then he unlocked his safe that he kept in the wardrobe at the back of his office. Taking out another of the neat little bags and chucking it at her. "Nasty habit that Ruby." he chided her. A smirk on his face.
Ruby poked her tongue out at him, sighing with relief and shoving the package in her pocket, along with her leftover money. "So's stripping for money." she finally replied. Her manager said nothing, merely shrugged and stood up. Walking over to her he blew smoke into her face. "You got somewhere better to work?" he asked warningly. Ruby shook her head, one hand stroking his cheek. She had no where to go if The Roxy wouldn't keep her. She'd only had to sleep with Max (her manager) a few times to get the lead job. She hadn't liked it but, what else could she do. "You know I don't." she answered shortly, taking his cigarette and taking a drag herself before placing it back in between his lips. "Night Max."
She left his office and shortly after that, The Roxy. Walking down the alley at the back of the club a dark figure ran towards her. "Give me your money!" it yelled, Ruby shook her head trying to push the figure away. Whoever it was persisted, pushing her against a wall and screaming abuse at her.

"My shifts over for tonight. See ya' round sugar."
"See ya 'round." Tyler replied to Jewel as she left him, watching her go. Finishing his drink he stood, tipping one of the girls near him to make up for the drink, and heading out the club.
Pocketing his hands, Tyler started walking back towards his apartment, walking past the back alley of the Roxy casually, completely oblivious until he heard a male voice yelling abuse at someone. He frowned, stopping and seeing the man pinning someone to the wall. "Hey!" he yelled, running down the alley towards them.

Ruby looked at the man running down the alley. Hadn't she just lapdanced him? Oh this is fun. she thought sarcastically. She held her hand fast over her pocket, they could take the money, but if they took her drugs she'd die.
Her weak feminine muscles were no match however, the man broke into her pocket, grabbing the money and her cocaine. "No!" she screamed, her blue eyes wide and desperate.

Tyler tackled the guy off Ruby, punching him in the face, dazzing the man long enough for Tyler to grab the money and cocaine, tossing it back behind him towards Ruby. He turned to the man and punched him again, before the man knocked him back and stood. Tyler stood, watching the man run off.
Tyler scowled, but turned back to Ruby "You okay?" he asked her, picking up the cash and cocaine, handing it back to her. "Nasty habit." he said, nodding to the cocaine.

Ruby pulled a face at him, grabbing the cocain and hugging it to her gently, before slipping it back into her pocket. "I'm fine, thanks. And, everyone has their vice, it just happens to be mine." she replied.
She sighed, hugging her coat to herself. "Let me buy you something to eat, it's the least I can do. You saved me and my addiction." she chuckled, taking a few steps up the alley and seeing if he'd follow.

Tyler shook his head, but followed her all the same, putting his hands back in his pockets. "It's the least I could do, after what you did for me." he smirked teasingly, making reference to the lap dance.

Ruby nodded knowingly, "Ah, well in that case." she smiled, rummaging through yet another pocket. "Crap, you got a light?" she asked him as she realised she could find her cigarettes but not her lighter. She held up a cigarette forlornly, twirling it in her fingers. She hadn't smoked before, but in N.Y it was practically fashionable.

Tyler looked at her, pulling out a lighter from his pocket. He flipped it, the end igniting the flame, holding it to her cigarette and waiting for it to light. "You're just a walking, talking tragic city tale now, aintcha?" he said to her, smirking.

As soon as it had ignited she put it between her lips, closing her eyes as she took a drag. Letting it out slowly she walked next to him, snorting at his comment. "Oh yeah, a poor young girl sucked in by a big bad girl." she laughed.
She held out her hand, "Names Ruby, also known as New Yorks nineteen year old sob story." she introduced herself properly. She eyed him up and down, "And you're dashing." she stated simply, blowing some more smoke out into the night air.

Tyler pocketed the lighter once Ruby's cigarette was lit. He laughed a bit at her comment, reaching out and shaking her hand lightly as she introduced herself. "Tyler, also known as New York's struggling stereotypical musician. And you, my dear, aren't bad looking yourself." he teased, but meaning every word.

Ruby laughed, breifly illuminated as they passed under a street lamp. "So where you headed Tyler?" she asked him with interest. "I myself am heading to the cafe-" she gestured a light further up the road, "and then on to Presidential Villas." her point moved to her graffiti'd apartment block scarring the horizon.

Tyler laughed a bit "I was heading to the Presidential Villas myself, but I guess I can take a detour to the cafe with a pretty girl like you. Can't let someone attack you on your way home twice in one night now, can I?"

She shook her head, pulling an intense puppy eyes, "No of course not." she agreed, nodding solemnly. They reached the cafe and she stepped inside, embracing the warmth. She walked up to the counter, "Can I have... the chicken bun?" she asked, also getting it toasted.
She handed over the $5 it cost her. She had $10 left. Where'd it gone? $80 on cocaine, $5 on food, that left $15 for her rent. She was going to have to work on the streets after her shift tomorrow if she was going to get enough money for rent day.
Returning to the street, enjoying the buns warmth in her hands she dropped her cigarette, stubbing it out with her boot and taking a bite of bun. "Ah so you're also from Presidential? What floor?" she asked curiously.

Tyler walked with Ruby out to the street, looking at her. "Fourth floor, and you?" he asked her, looking around the near deserted streets.
