Logan confidently walked out onto the stage of the Montage Theatre, his head held high. Clearing his throat he walked to the edge of the stage looking out over the mass of empty seats before him. "Good evening!" he roared across the theatre, grinning as his voice bounced back to him. "How are we doing tonight?" Logan asked his invisible audience; warming up the crowd, as he liked to say. It was a trick of his, and he always picked on the stiffest looking couple there.
"Ah! It's lovely to see my manager has filled in the seats with cardboard cut outs again." Logan raised a hand to the side of his mouth, to look as though he was telling a secret, "It makes the audience think it's a sold out show." he stated in a softer tone. Right about now the stiffest couple would maybe blush or give a chortle to show they understood him and then the show would properly start.

Ruby was at the back of the theatre. She didnt normally come here unless there was a dance audition or something, but since finding what Logans area of entertainment was she figured if he wasnt at home then she might as well walk here for some excercise. Luckily he -was- here.
She got out of her seat, walking down the aisle. Most of her clothes today were new for a change, last nights client had paid extremely well. Her coat was black with snowy white fur around the collar and cuffs. It still fit with her though, hugging her form around the waist. That style of coat was practically her trademark. Her boots were new black leather. Underneath she was wearing blue, a short dress. Suprisingly no fishnets, she wasnt working tonight.
She hopped up onto the stage beside him. Clapping she laughed, "Cardboard loves you." she commented, smiling. She looked out over the rows of empty chairs, pretending to think, she turned to him, "Somehow I always have an audience..." she teased him, a playfull smirk on her face.

Logan smirked as Ruby appeared before him and jumped on the stage clapping. "Now how did I miss you in the audience?" he asked out loud, but also said as a question to himself. Logan laughed at her comment, "Ah cardboard and I go way back." he joked.
"Somehow I always have an audience..."
Logan smirked at this while nodding. "Well you have one right now." he told her, pointing to himself. "So is that why you came here? To find your audience?"

Ruby looked out over the vast emptiness and then back to him with a smile, "Well I don't think this audience could afford a private show. But yes, I was looking for you." she chuckled. Hugging her jacket around her. Her fingers fidgeted with the ever present packet of powder in her pocket, she was worried. Tonight she wasnt working. How was she going to get tonights hits? The coat was more of a way to make her shivering look due to cold, it was how she reacted to panic about this type of thing.
"So, this is where you hide out huh?" she asked him, standing close enough to be less than an arms reach away from him, but she didnt reach out for him... yet.

Logan was glad to hear she was looking for him, his company. The reason people looked for him was to get another hit. As he thought about this he cringed internally, tonight was his night to be roving the streets, meeting with customers. What would he do with Ruby? Logan couldn't take her along.
"Cold?" Logan asked with a small, but gentle smile as he pushed away the thoughts of tonight and focused on now. Ignoring her question of hiding out he grinned a little as she moved closer to him, but frowned when she stopped. 'More games?' Logan asked himself. It confused him slightly as he thought he'd already proved himself to Ruby, but then again, she might use this front he knew the girls learned at The Roxy.

Ruby knew if he touched her he'd feel she was just pleasantly warm, not cold but it seemed a good excuse so she slipped her arms around his waist, nodding. Maybe he would think he couldnt feel it because of his own body heat or something. "You could say that." she answered, she didn't lie to people she liked the way she liked Logan.
She rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. Trying to focus entirely on him rather than the fact she was shaking.

"I can change that." Logan told Ruby with a coy grin. As she slipped her arms around his waist in the usual style he tugged her into him, his grip around her now tighter in the hopes that his body heat could warm her up. "Better?" Logan whispered down onto her forehead as though talking aloud would break the peaceful quiet in the theatre that surrounded them.
Smiling to himself, Logan brought up a hand to play with the long lose strands of Ruby's hair. He tangled his fingers in the brown strands thinking pleasantly to himself.

Ruby smiled at his touch, sighing into his chest. Before thinking, Wait... I'm not cold at all. This- He hasn't noticed yet... it's okay. She tried to focus on the tremors running through her body, get them to stop but she'd never been good at focusing on one thing in her life. As her mind wandered back to how much money she'd have to give Max tonight she inwardly swore. Why'd she have to be stuck with a one track mind? "Uh... yeah..." she said distractedly to him.

Logan frowned as he noticed the shivers after holding her tighter and closer. Gently he pushed her back to examen her, "Are you okay Ruby?" he asked stooping to get a good look at her face. Logan was serious about her, and at this point worried that she may be sick. He pushed her hair out of her face to look into those piercing blue eyes he usually tried to avoid at all costs.

Ruby looked back at him, "No, I'm not sick." she said softly. "It's... theres something I need... but I don't have it yet." she said, trying to be vague enough for him to think it was coffee or something.

"Well then what is it?" Logan asked as his frown deepened with concern. "Ruby?" He had hoped that calling her name might make her loosen up around him. "You're sure you're not sick? Because I've got the money... You can see a doctor.." Logan's mind raced a mile a minute and the offer sort of fell out of his mouth before he could stop it.

Ruby gasped, "I can afford to see a fucking doctor Logan." she said, sounding annoyed. "But I don't need to. I just need to get something, then the shaking will stop ... for now..." she mumbled the last bit. She could afford a doctor, that was true, but Max charged more than doctors charged for appointments, that she couldn't afford.
She looked at him intently, her eyes looked paniced, desperate almost. She hoped he didn't know that look from his clients. She liked that he liked her, saw her as more than just another girl that got sucked in.

"Jesus Christ!" Logan swore letting go of Ruby. "I was just offering!" Without knowing, a small packet containing white powder slipped from inside his jacket pocket and hit the floor. He was angry of being shut down and shut out, rejected after offering something so simple; help.
"Why can't you let me help you?" Logan asked, his anger slightly residing when he saw a desperate look in her eyes. Something inside Logan clicked, he had seen that look before, that look that was scrawled all over her face. Ruby wasn't telling Logan something and he wanted to know what.

Ruby was about to answer him when the sound of something hitting the floor distracted her. "What the hell was tha-" her eyes scanned onto the packet, double taking she froze, eyes wide.
It was as if everything but that packet faded away. It wasn't important, dropping to her knees she dived for it. Closing her hand around it tightly, a feeling of releif washed over her.
She dared a guilty look up at Logan. Wiping a strand of hair out of her eyes.

"Ru- No!" Logan yelled as he saw why she had dropped to her knees. "No! I won't be responsible for you as well! I can't." He told her whispering the last part, mostly to himself. "Give it here."
