Family: Vernon Presley (father), Gladys Presley (mother), Jesse Presley (twin brother, deceased at child birth).
History:
The legendary “King of Rock and Roll” was born on the 8th of January, 1935, and lived a fairly unsuccessful life during his earlier years. Coming from a poor family, they moved about often and lived in tenant housing. Having gotten his first guitar in 1946 at age 11, Elvis performed in local bars and even at school, though he saw little success and faced occasional ridicule from his classmates throughout high school for his “hillbilly” songs and performances. It would not be until 1956 that he would make his big breakout.
At age 21, Elvis Presley made his big break in rock-and-roll, one of his most well-known dancing gestures which involved shaking his legs had actually originated from a fit of nervousness which looked heavily exaggerated due to the pants he was wearing. Believing it to be part of his routine, countless female fans cheered, and Elvis would later incorporate this into his later shows. Elvis, admittedly not a songwriter, rather drew inspiration from the things he heard, from jukebox recordings to African-American blues singers. His first musical hero being Mississippi Slim, a friend of the family who also had his own radio show, and from the start, music had been his life and passion.
Elvis remains a hot young star, famous around the country for his distinct music and bluesy voice; visiting cities and stadiums to perform for his fans.
Main Talent: Singing.
Weaknesses: Elvis likes the ladies. Though he won’t go far enough to jeopardise his career, Elvis does have a bit of fun with the more appealing and willing female fans. Another great weakness for Elvis, is his mother Gladys. Elvis is a bit of a mama’s boy, especially because of the death of his brother Jesse when he was born. Elvis would do almost anything for his mother, and drop everything to rush to her side if she needed him. He loves her greatly and is always afraid of losing her.
Strengths: Elvis is a great singer, as proven by his soaring career, but he also considers himself a good actor, and has always wanted to be a big time actor, “Like James Dean, or Marlon Brando.”
He’s a generous, funny, and warm-hearted guy who is a good friend, and an all round great guy to hang around with. He’s cares a lot for his mother, and his family all round, using most of his money that he earns to help them never have to return to being poor ever again.
Anything Else: Elvis owns a guitar with his name engraved on it, which he loves.
RP Example:
Elvis sat in the jungle room at his Graceland mansion, strumming absently on his guitar as he mused over the latest tour he was going on. The Colonel had booked him some gigs in New York City, and had told Elvis they were leaving in the morning. At first it sounded great - New York City, the lights, the music, the fans..But now, he was starting to think he shouldn't go.
His mother hadn't been looking very well lately, she'd been drinking a lot more then she'd used to, and Elvis was getting worried, despite his mother telling him she was fine. He sighed softly as he stopped strumming his guitar, placing it on the couch beside him. "She'll be fine, Elvis.." he muttered to himself "She'll be fine.."
